About the Exhibit and the Artist, HERMES TORRES
“My work is informed by my experiences in dance, martial arts and metaphysics, with particular attention to space, color, texture, movement, and emotive gesture. Inspiration may come by way of a vision, a color, a word or phrase, music, choreography, a physical sensation, or an emotion. Working on several pieces concurrently, a dialogue transpires between the works in progress compelling me to investigate how to best to translate the spiritual vocabulary through visual forms.”
