Valentine’s Bird Taxidermy class

Looking for a unique experience this Valentine’s Day? Try a taxidermy class! Gotham Taxidermy’s classes are designed for anyone with an interest in the curious art and science of taxidermy. No matter the experience level, all are welcome! Students will learn everything they need to reanimate an animal, from start to finish. We will cover anatomic study, skinning, fleshing, tanning, sculpting, grooming, and more! Divya Anantharaman is an award winning taxidermist and star of the Emmy winning documentary, Rearranging Skin, framing taxidermy as an expression of queer identity and act of reverence. Students will be learning proven, professional techniques from Divya’s experience with museums and galleries over the past 15 years. Class size is limited to ensure close guidance and individual attention. All animals are legally and sustainably sourced-nothing is harmed for the sake of art.
