THREE FILMS đź’Ą THREE VISIONS đź’Ą ONE NIGHT ONLY

Touring from Philadelphia, filmmaker Abigail Bruley brings her award-winning dark comedy trilogy The Main Trilogy to Film Noir Cinema for one night only — alongside two New York-made shorts by Daniel Sheppard and Alex Markman.

✨ The Main Trilogy ✨

A surreal, darkly funny collection of short films that insists on taking the long way home, The Main Trilogy follows Main, a sharp-tongued woman stumbling through reality as if it were a dream she can’t quite interpret after brain injury. Featuring Ted Leo and Marisa Dabice of Mannequin Pussy, with an original soundtrack by the legendary Sun Ra Arkestra, the trilogy is the first of its kind to portray the fractured, confused point of view of a woman living with cognitive disability — through the lens of absurdist cinema.

🏆 Winner of Best Dark Comedy (LA Film Awards), The Main Trilogy has been praised for its genre-bending blend of humor, surrealism, and emotional rawness.

The screening also features two local shorts that prove New York stories are never really short:

  • They Just Broke Up by Daniel Sheppard — A tender, funny slice-of-life breakup comedy starring Jarrett DePasquale and Katia Vannoy.
  • Honky Tonk Wednesdays by Alex Markman — A documentary love letter to a $10 country-western dance night at a Kingston VFW, featuring Cindy Cashdollar and John Sebastian.
