Join us at Essex Market for a cheesy installment of Talk & Taste!

In 2006, Anne Saxelby opened a modest cheese stall at Essex Street Market. She became a central figure in the food world, responsible for introducing many to artisanal American cheeses and bringing respect to the people that made them.

On Wednesday, April 30, meet the cheesemongers, historians, and dairy enthusiasts who are continuing that legacy at this discussion led by Essex Market’s Alex Ritter-Jung. Learn about the origins, history, and legacy of American cheesemaking from special guests: cheesemonger and food educator, Kyra James; dairy historian and recipient of the Daphne Zepos Research Award, Mary Casella; and the apprentices of the Anne Saxelby Legacy Fund

After the discussion, taste cheeses curated in collaboration with Essex Market’s premier cheesemonger: Formaggio Essex. The Formaggio team and panelists will describe the cheeses, their tasting notes, and how to pair them.
