Sustainable and Functional Design – Building For Today and Tomorrow

Join Glen-Gery at the Brickworks New York Design Studio for an AIA credited (1 LU/HSW credit) panel presentation.

The program reviews strategies employed on completed projects to achieve net zero. Various green rating/certification systems and their criteria will be discussed, and terms related to sustainable building will be defined. New and old design strategies effectiveness and compatibility with current building design trends will be compared including passive solar, high-efficiency lighting and renewable energy.

Learning Objective 1:

Define the differences between certifications LEED, Fitwel, ILFI Zero, and BREEAM

Learning Objective 2:

Evaluate projects utilizing sustainable design criteria to achieve better energy efficiency

Learning Objective 3:

Identify facade trends that can be integrated into sustainable designs of the future

Learning Objective 4:

Review the information critical to educating clients and balancing design requests with new sustainable technologies.Reception with small bites and drinks to follow presentation.
