Release of the Fishes
Celebrate the end of the Wetlab season with the River Project team and bid farewell to the wonderful wildlife that served as marine ambassadors this year.
The Wetlab is a research aquarium that houses dozens of species of fish and invertebrates all caught within the Park as part of an ongoing Fish Ecology Survey. During the season, it features a rotating exhibit of animals that are released regularly to ensure that their behaviors are minimally impacted.
Join the River Project during Release of the Fishes along with light refreshments and a wide range of activities for all ages.
At the event you can:
Help return the fish to the Hudson River before the Wetlab closes for the season
Enjoy kid-friendly crafts and activities that teach about local wildlife
Learn about the Park’s ongoing research and education initiatives from the River Project team
