Semplice Players was sent scrambling just 72 hours before this Friday’s concert when the cellist had to withdraw due to illness. Fortunately Noah Chen, 18 year old cello phenomenon and avid chamber music player, was free to play!
But oh, no! 59 hours before curtain on Friday, the second violinist called with the news that she, too, was incapacitated. Semplice Players called every Player they could think of, but of course they’re all working this weekend!
Noah said his dad plays violin and would like to play, though. Robert Chen was free this weekend because he just finished performing as soloist in Mozart’s 4th Violin Concerto with the Chicago Symphony where he is concertmaster.
So if you can, friends, please come hear Noah for the first time at the Barge, playing with his dad Robert in his return to Bargemusic after more than 20 years, and violists David Kovac and me in concert with the glorious Mark Peskanov in music of Beethoven and Mozart!
We’d love you to be part of this fun weekend of concerts!

June 2 at 7pm, June 3 at 6pm, and June 4 at 4pm
