GETTING TO THE ARCHWAY
The Dumbo Archway is a public plaza underneath the Manhattan Bridge in DUMBO, Brooklyn. It’s on Water St between Anchorage Place and Adams St.

THE MUSIC!
The Feeling Messengers, led by Afro-Cuban musician and band leader Miguel (Miguelo) Valdes, is dedicated to preserving authentic Cuban music. Their performances are jam-packed with rhythms that reflect the Bolero, Son, Rumba, Guaracha, Cha-Cha-Cha and Cuban music.
The Feeling Messengers is noted throughout New York City and New Jersey for combining contemporary traditional jazz and bossanova with the traditional Cuban Son that takes the audience into a feeling of nostalgia, love, longing, and happiness all through their music. The Feeling Messengers bridges generations and understanding of the important history music has played in breaking down barriers of misunderstanding. Through music we can touch the hearts, minds, bodies, and soul through the heartbeat of good Cuban music.

ABOUT THE CENTER FOR CUBAN STUDIES. The Center for Cuban Studies is a non-profit educational institution with a national membership, base organized by a group of scholars, writers, artists and other professionals with a purpose to counter the effects of U.S. policy toward Cuba. Founded in 1972 and located in Dumbo, the Center is dedicated to providing information about contemporary Cuba and contributing to a normalization of relations between Cuba and the United States, including an end to the embargo. The Cuban Art Space is incorporated within the Center for Cuban Studies to promote the work of Cuban artists, especially those living and working in Cuba, and to educate the U.S. public about Cuba’s cultural life.
