Kindness in Action: Rescuing and Protecting Our Animal Friends

Families will have the chance to meet Yevgeniya Gorshkova from Strays of Brooklyn, a real animal rescuer. The event will be held at the Sheepshead Bay Library.

Hear the amazing story of how she rescued a mama cat and her three kittens—
all found living in the ceiling of the Sheepshead Bay Library!

• Help us name the mama cat and her kittens by entering a special Kittens Name Raffle.
• Participants will write a note explaining their name choices—celebrating kindness and creativity.
• Learn about humane trapping and TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) programs, and how they help protect animals.
• Donations of canned food or supplies are welcome to support “Strays of Brooklyn”
