Jewish Currents Presents… Black Ox Orkestar

Following a 15-year hiatus, the four musicians of Black Ox Orkestar reunited in the pandemic summer of 2020, impelled by an invitation by Jewish Currents to be the subject of a feature article introducing this groundbreaking band to a new generation of listeners.

One of their earliest new recordings, “Mizrakh Mi Ma’arav”, was released as a flexi 7” by Jewish Current as a gift to its subscribers in February 2022, effectively announcing the return of Black Ox Orkestar. The song also appears on the band’s new full-length album Everything Returns, available now via Constellation. 

A new special edition hand-screened poster, copies of the Black Ox Orkestar “Mizrakh Mi Ma’arav” flexi 7” vinyl, Jewish Currents merch will all be available for purchase at the event, in addition to general Hanukkah holiday festivities.
