Please join us for an exploration of the connections between reproductive and environmental justice, illuminated by storytelling. The evening will include a performance by New York City theater company ReproEco and a conversation with Abortion Conversation Projects‘ Executive Director Trae Banuelos.

We will begin by discussing the origins of ReproEco with Cindy Cooper. Playwright Alinca Hamilton will then introduce her short play “Always Never Really Here,” about a mother and daughter facing the harsh realities of living without clean running water in the verifiably real town of Sand Branch, Texas. The play will be read by Hamilton herself, as well as Gena Bardwell, directed by Lorca Peress. We will also hear from Trae Banuelos, Reproductive Justice consultant and executive director of the Abortion Conversation Projects about the connections between art and activism. We will end the evening with an audience Q+A and discussion.

ReproEco is a project of Repro Freedom Arts, which uses dynamic theater, arts and creativity to open new conversations in support of reproductive freedom and human rights.

Abortion Conversation Projects is committed to eliminating the stigma of abortion by supporting individuals and small groups engaged in innovative community-based projects that create new ways and opportunities to talk about abortion honestly and publicly.

We hope to see you on Saturday, September 6th, for what promises to be a thought-provoking evening!

This event is free and open to the public. We request you reserve a ticket via Eventbrite since our seating is limited. Reservations will be honored until 6 PM. Once we have reached capacity, we will not be able to admit additional guests.
