ABOUT CASH COBAIN
2024 XXL Freshman Cash Cobain is a multi-hyphenate rapper and producer known as the originator of “sample drill”, a sound that has transformed the identity of the genre in NYC by introducing 90s R&B, 2000s pop, and even gospel through his impeccable ear for chopping up recognizable samples and placing them over bouncy production. Cobain is fresh off a career-year in 2025 –– collaborating with Justin Bieber, Cardi B and Drake all in the course of 6 weeks while also dropping a handful of successful singles “Trippin on a Yacht”, “Hoes Be Mad” & “Feeeeeeeel”, gearing up for his forthcoming LP Party With Slizzy. In 2024, Cash launched himself into the stratosphere with his “slizzy summer” single run with the Ice Spice-assisted “Fisherrr” (feat. BaySwag) (77M Streams), whom he opened for on her Y2K! World Tour, “Grippy” (19M Streams) with J. Cole, and “Rump Punch” (37M Streams) leading into his critically acclaimed LP Play Cash Cobain. In June of 2024, Cobain secured his Billboard Hot 100 debut with Don Toliver’s new single “Attitude” alongside Charlie Wilson (163M Streams), following a career-minting 2024 that saw him release his critically-acclaimed sophomore album Play Cash Cobain. Previously we also saw Cobain produce Drake’s “Calling For You” (feat. 21 Savage), which debuted at #5 on the Billboard Hot 100, and PinkPantheress’ “Nice To Meet You” (feat. Central Cee), which debuted at #20 on the Billboard Hot 100 . Cobain’s reach has spanned well beyond NYC, with his style of reinventing samples crossing the pond to the UK on the production for Central Cee’s 2024 COLORS track, “One By One”. In 2024, he also made his Billboard Hot 100 debut alongside Charlie Wilson on Don Toliver’s new single “Attitude” (163M Streams), appeared on A Boogie Wit da Hoodie’s “Body”, and produced Lancey Foux’s “Daylight” (feat. Teezo Touchdown).
