4th Ave Yarn Bomb – 4th Ave Connects!

Join us to install the 4th Ave Community Yarn Bomb on Saturday October 1st at 10am! On display from Oct 2 -Nov 13 along 4th Ave fence by the Old Stone House
Now in our 4th year, our theme is 4th Ave Connects! – displaying the strength of our neighborhoods during a time of rapid change. The Yarn Bomb “Mural” shows neighborhoods that connect along 4th Ave along with iconic Brooklyn images (such as the R subway car, brownstones, bicycles, Barclay’s Center (with protestors) and pizza) along with social justice images that are important to our community.
The 4th Ave Yarn Bomb is a fun, socially-distanced activity to celebrate art and community on 4th Ave in Park Slope and Gowanus. Crafters of all ages and skill levels from across Brooklyn and NYC contribute to the project – over 30 people chipped in! The final product will be installed over Oct 1-2 weekend on the fence that borders the field at The Old Stone House in Brooklyn, along 4th Ave btw 3rd/4th Streets. It will be visible for all passerbys for several weeks and in place for the Kings County Fiber Festival on Oct 8, Arts Gowanus Open Studios Weekend (Oct 15-16) and the NYC Marathon (Nov 6).
The 4th Ave Yarn Bomb is a community collaboration organized by The Old Stone House, Arts Gowanus, Why Not Art and Forth on Fourth Avenue (FOFA). Contact us at [email protected] for more information.
