17th Annual Black Writers Conference 2024
The Center for Black Literature sent a copy of our latest poster to a few people in press/ media for the 17th National Black Writers Conference, All That We Carry: Where Do We Go From Here? The event will be taking place at Medgar Evers College, Brooklyn, NY from March 19 – 23, 2024.
The Conference officially opens with Keynote speaker Michael Eric Dyson in conversation with Farah Jasmine Griffin on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, and continues with a wonderful roster of writers who will delve into roundtable topics that include Technology, Social Media, and the Fight for Racial Justice, with Jelani Cobb, Marc Lamont Hill, Bettina Love, Wesley Lowery, and Emily Raboteau (from City College); Myth and Reality: The World of Publishing for the Black Writer with Yahdon Israel, Regina Brooks, Karen Hunter, Christopher Jackson, Lisa Lucas, and Jamia Wilson; Black Writers’ Letters to America with Victoria Christopher Murray, Pamela Newkirk, Thabiti Lewis, and Khalil Gibran Muhammad; and The Healing Power of Literature with Patricia Spears Jones, Kalisha Buchanan, Marita Golden, Kevin Powell, and Rachel Eliza Griffiths. We are about to present the biggest literature event of the year which will include the author of Erasure the novel that the current 2024 Academy Award-nominated film is based on in American Fiction.
